In Germany gibt es eine Schulpflicht ab dem Alter von 6 Jahren, und viele Kinder besuchen vorher den Kindergarten. Man verlässt die Grundschule nach der 4. Klasse, wenn man keine Klasse wiederholt. Danach geht man auf ein Gymnasium oder eine andere Schule. Meistens beginnt der Unterricht um 8 Uhr und endet um 13:25 Uhr. Das Schuljahr besteht aus zwei Halbjahren. In den Bundesländern sind die Ferien unterschiedlich. Ab dem Alter von 16 Jahren, also am Ende der 10. Klasse, macht man den Realschulabschluss. Wenn man ihn besteht, kann man in die Oberstufe gehen, um sein Abitur zu machen.
